We are tracking continuing union strikes in Italy and Europe that could continue to affect logistics operations through October 2025.

A union general strike in Italy, combined with protests, has impacted rail, air, and port services, with additional strikes scheduled at Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate, Pisa, and Florence airports.

A 48-hour strike by Rotterdam port workers (Oct 8–10) is suspending container operations, impacting Northern European supply chains.

These procedures can result in 24–72 hour delays in shipments, particularly in the automotive and perishable goods sectors.

Following a U.S. Executive Order effective August 29, 2025, the De Minimis exemption (USD 800 duty-free threshold) has been suspended. From this date, all goods sent to the USA will be subject to customs duties and must be prepaid before transport.

As U.S. authorities have not yet released full technical details, Ecoparcel is working to adapt its operations.

Until these changes are implemented, shipments containing goods to the USA will be suspended from August 26, 2025, across all Ecoparcel services.

A severe power outage today affected Spain, Portugal and parts of southern France, disrupting public transport, traffic management and petrol stations.

Power has now been fully restored in France, but authorities in Spain and Portugal estimate it will take another 6–10 hours to recover electricity across those countries.

Our partners in Spain will be unable to sort or dispatch parcels this evening. As a result, deliveries scheduled for today and tomorrow will be delayed by at least 24 hours, with further delays possible through the rest of the week as they recover from the outage.

In Portugal, our partners will operate a reduced sorting service tonight and will endeavour to forward volumes to local depots where feasible. We expect parcels due for delivery today and tomorrow to be similarly affected.
