Fuel Surcharge

About the Fuel Surcharge

The following discourse is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the fuel surcharge.

In light of the considerable escalation in diesel fuel costs across European markets, Ecoparcel has instigated a provisional fuel surcharge on shipping services. This surcharge is intended to offset the financial burden incurred due to rising fuel prices, thereby facilitating the maintenance of reliable delivery services across all routes.

The fuel surcharge is calculated using official diesel price data published weekly by the European Commission in the EU Oil Bulletin. The surcharge applied to each country is determined by comparing the current diesel price with a baseline reference price. The surcharge percentage stipulated below is applied as a proportion of the difference between current and baseline fuel costs.

Fuel surcharge rates are subject to regular review and update in order to ensure that they accurately reflect prevailing market conditions. Conversely, when diesel prices decline, the surcharge is correspondingly reduced. In the event of a return to or a fall below the baseline level of prices, the surcharge for that country will be nullified.

Ecoparcel is committed to full transparency. The following table illustrates the current fuel surcharge applicable to each country, in addition to the baseline and current diesel prices employed in the calculation. It is imperative to emphasise that close monitoring of fuel markets will be maintained. The surcharge will be subject to removal or reduction in accordance with prevailing market conditions.
